“Ezoic was a downfall, unsure if it was adding them too soon or not having the knowhow to optimize them properly but my traffic steadily declined after adding them. For over a year I was on a downward slide. It got to the point where it wasnt worth the income from ads. I removed ads and my traffic has recovered fully within a few weeks and is steadily on the rise.” – someone leaving IS/P24
This dings me as being Extremely Suspicious, as in: Is google gently down-ranking sites having ezoic (a cooperator, supposedly, but also competitor to google adsense) ads? Fwding this thread to my new ezoic acct mgr.
“I doubt that. Most of the ads served by Ezoic are still Google ads.” – Ricky on IS/P24
I know they say that, but how could it be indie verified? The (claimed, by OP) visible evidence shows a penalty. This is not the first thread mentioning shadowy issues. Google/YT claims ‘no evil’ and yet we see ever mounting censorship. I’m doubtful, but in the opposite way: It feels to me like a subtle, looming ‘social credit’ monster.
I’m still half wondering what it would take to start up a community-driven ad network… Would P24 site creators be interested in putting in paid ads for their own P24 sites into the mix. And go from there. I’d probably run a paid ad for wordierpress, plagiaNet and probably some others.
Maybe the thing starts out as a free-to-p24-members ad network? I’d contribute bandwidth and use of the back-end tech to such an effort.
