That explains why you can’t print a black and white document when you are out of yellow ink.
I actually won a case against the government that sent me papers dated of a certain due date and they blamed the long delay before I received it on the post being congested and slow. But I was able in that manner to prove the the papers where printed after the date indicated on the document. And since it was after the date limit for a recourse their claim was rejected.
Going back to cutting letters out of a magazine

Yeah, they also mix cyan into your black to burn through the cyan cartridges.
I wondered for years why would I get a message “yellow cartridge low” if i’m only using black!! that’s so annoying
